Professor Sturt Manning leads excavations at Maroni Vournes. He specializes in Aegean, Cypriot, and eastern Mediterranean prehistory, and has written on a number of subjects, including archaeological fieldwork, theory, chronology, landscape, and identity. He is a pioneer in archaeological science, working with dendrochronology, dendrochemistry, dendroclimatology, and radiocarbon dating, with applications in the eastern Mediterranean, Near East, North America, Mexico, and China.
